Frequently Asked Questions
Booking & Appointments
How do I book an appointment?
The easiest way is to book online here . You’ll be able to see all available appointments in real time, choose your therapist and select the treatment and time that suits you.
I’m not sure which massage or therapist to book. What should I choose?
Don’t worry — you don’t need to know exactly what type of massage you need before you arrive. Have a look through our therapists and treatments and choose the one that sounds like the best fit. Your therapist will chat with you at the beginning of your appointment and create a bespoke massage treatment for you using a variety of massage techniques
Do you take same-day appointments?
Yes, if we have availability. Our online booking system shows available appointments up to one hour before the appointment time, so it’s always worth checking.
Can I book for someone else?
Absolutely. You can make a booking for someone else — just make sure we have the name and contact details of the person who will actually be attending.
Do I need to arrive early?
We invite you to come with plenty of time to take a moment for yourself before your appointment, help yourself to a cup of tea or water and read a magazine if you like. If it’s your first appointment, arriving around 5 minutes early is helpful so you can get settled and complete anything needed before your treatment.
ACC & Health Insurance
Is massage covered by ACC?
Unfortunately, massage therapy isn’t covered by ACC.
If you’re looking for treatment under an ACC claim, you’ll need to see an ACC-registered provider such as a physiotherapist, osteopath, acupuncturist or chiropractor.
Can I claim my massage through my health insurance?
This depends on your insurance provider and your individual policy. We recommend checking directly with your insurer before booking if you’re hoping to make a claim.
We do have a Southern Cross remedial massage provider at Revival.
Gift Vouchers
My gift voucher doesn’t have a code. How do I book?
No problem! Simply book your appointment online and choose the Pay Later option.
Bring your physical voucher with you to your appointment, or an electronic copy if your voucher was sent digitally, and we’ll take care of the rest.
Can I use my voucher with any therapist?
Unless your voucher says otherwise, you can use it toward any eligible massage treatment at Revival Massage & Movement.
What if my treatment costs more than my voucher?
That’s absolutely fine. Your voucher will be put towards the cost of your appointment and you can simply pay the difference.
Can someone else use my gift voucher?
Yes. Our gift vouchers can be passed on to someone else if you’d prefer them to enjoy it.
Before Your Massage
What should I wear?
Whatever you’re comfortable in. For most massage treatments, your therapist will leave the room while you undress to your comfort level and get onto the massage table. You’ll be appropriately covered with sheets throughout your treatment.
Do I need to bring anything?
Usually, no. If there’s anything you think may be useful for your therapist to know about — such as information relating to an injury or treatment you’re receiving elsewhere — you’re welcome to bring it along.
What if I have an injury or health condition?
Please let your therapist know in advance. We can adapt most treatments to suit you, but occasionally we may recommend that you speak with your GP or another health professional before having a massage.
Can I have a massage while pregnant?
Yes. If you and the baby are healthy absolutely!
We offer pregnancy massage and can adapt positioning and treatment to keep you comfortable. Please let us know that you’re pregnant when booking, including a note of how many weeks pregnant.
What if I’m sick on the day of my appointment?
If you’re unwell, particularly with something contagious, please contact us as soon as possible. It’s usually better for you, your therapist and our other clients to reschedule. We ask that you refer to your reminder email and message your Massage Therapist directly so that they get the message asap and can try to fill your spot with a waitlisted client.
During Your Massage
Will my massage hurt?
Massage doesn’t need to hurt to be effective. Some areas may feel tender, particularly if they’re tight or sensitive, but you should always feel comfortable telling your therapist if you’d like more or less pressure.
Do I have to talk during my massage?
Not at all! After your therapist has checked in with you about what you need, you’re very welcome to switch off and enjoy some quiet time.
Can I ask for more or less pressure?
Definitely — and we encourage you to. Pressure is very personal, so please tell your therapist what feels good for you.
Do I have to take all my clothes off?
No. You only ever undress to the level you’re comfortable with. Your therapist will explain what will work best for the treatment you’ve chosen and you’ll remain appropriately covered throughout.
Changes, Cancellations & Payments
Can I change or cancel my appointment?
Yes. If you need to change your appointment, please give us as much notice as possible.
Please give us 24 hours’ notice to cancel or reschedule. Cancellations within 24 hours may incur a 60% fee, and no-shows may be charged in full. This ensures our self-employed therapists aren’t left with unexpected income loss and allows others to book available spots.
How can I reschedule my appointment?
You can use the link in your booking confirmation to manage your appointment up to 24hours before, or if you need to cancel or reschedule within the 24 hours, refer to your reminder email and contact your massage therapist directly.
What payment methods do you accept?
You can pay online when you book, or at the clinic after your treatment. We accept cash, EFTPOS and credit card. If you have a gift voucher, simply bring it with you or show us the electronic copy.
