Revival Massage and Movement Services
We provide all of the following services from our clinic location in Te Atatu Peninsula , Auckland.
We also offer The Feldenkrais Method from our home clinic in Riverhead, Auckland.
The Feldenkrais Method® (movement and postural education)
The Feldenkrais Method® is a form of neuromuscular reeducation. When someone wants to reduce pain, recover from an injury, or improve aspects of themselves (usually movement, balance, posture, flexibility, or performance related), a Feldenkrais lesson addresses the whole person – not just the symptom – by eliciting changes in the nervous system. Scientists call this process “neuroplasticity,” which is the brain’s extraordinary ability to acquire more efficient patterns of movement and action if given the right learning environment.
Anyone seeking efficient, sustainable movement and posture with less pain and greater self-awareness will benefit from the Feldenkrais Method®. Adults and Children with Neurological conditions such as Cerebral Palsy, Stroke & Parkinsons also find Feldenkrais life changing. Since how you move is how you move through life, these improvements will often enhance our students thinking, emotional regulation, and problem-solving capabilities, which brings great relief and empowerment to people battling with mental health issues.
If you’d like more advice regarding whether some Feldenkrais lessons would be of benefit for you, please call us on 09 213 9557 to discuss your condition. Or even better simply book a Functional Integration lesson appointment with Viv and experience first hand the difference that learning a new way of moving can make to your life.

The treatment itself may involve deep tissue work for short periods of time, but the results are definitely worth it!
Conditions such as sciatica, carpal tunnel, stiff necks, headaches, sports injuries and many more complaints can be eased with a remedial treatment.
If you’d like more advice regarding what’s best for you, please call us to discuss your condition. Or, simply book your appointment and enjoy the benefits.
Your massage therapist takes a whole body approach to looking at the reason for your pain therefore addressing the cause of the actual dysfunction, as well as your specific symptoms.
Sports Massage is a wonderful kind of massage therapy which is usually used prior to, throughout, as well as following athletic situations. The objective of this therapeutic massage is always to prepare the sportsperson for optimum performance, to alleviate inflammation, to lessen muscle tissue tension, to encourage overall flexibility as well as to prevent injuries. Your massage therapist will take into consideration where you are at with your training, when you will be training next and what massage techniques will be the most effective for you on the day of your massage.
If used as part of a regular program Relaxation massage reduces stress, both emotional and physical. Oxygen flow is increased in the blood and releases toxins from the muscles. Other benefits include shortening recovery time from muscular strain, increased circulation, stretching of ligaments and tendons, skin stimulation and soothing of the nervous system.
Pregnancy & Post Natal Massage
During your pregnancy your body is rapidly changing. The increased weight pushes the pelvis forward. It changes the centre of gravity and creates extra pressure on the lower back, thighs, hips. It affects your posture dramatically. Your muscles need to accommodate these changes and they often get stressed more than they should, responding with pain and discomfort.
Pregnancy massage eases muscular discomforts and cramps. It helps to relieve the tension and stiffness you can experience during pregnancy. Regular massage during pregnancy brings reduced stress levels, and helps to ease the common discomforts that go along with being pregnant, relief from muscle pain and joint stiffness, as well as headaches. Massage can help to alleviate swelling that is associated with Pregnancy and can improve blood and lymph circulation as well as enhancing the mind/body awareness that leads to a more active participation in the pregnancy and birth process.
The stress from childbirth and time spent caring for your newborn may be hard on your body. Regular massage during the postnatal period is very beneficial to all new mums. Postnatal massage addresses physical discomforts from the birth itself & can relieve muscular discomfort such as shoulders and neck pain from carrying and breastfeeding a baby, as well as giving you nurturing and emotional support to help you gain back your lost energy. Body, mind and soul are nurtured and rejuvenated, helping you be the best mum you can be.
Deep Tissue Massage
Deep Tissue massage strokes are used to respond to various tissues while breath and movement techniques are employed to release muscular congestion. It also helps to loosen muscle tissues, release toxins from muscles and get blood and oxygen circulating efficiently and is both corrective and therapeutic. Deep Tissue Massage is of great benefit for physical problems, including sports injuries and chronic pain also because it works very deeply, emotional issues can also be addressed when these issues have been stored in the body.
Trigger Point Therapy
Trigger points are manifested as small contraction knots in the muscles, that control the state of contraction, active ones may cause muscle spasm and referred pain.
Trigger Point Therapy is a form of Remedial Massage Therapy in which direct pressure is applied to specific points on tender muscle tissue to bring about pain relief and reduction in muscle tension, some of which may be referred pain.
All the structures in the body are surrounded, protected and supported by superficial and middle layers of connective tissue, otherwise known as fascia. Fascia is a continuous elastic sheath that provides structural support for the skeleton and soft tissues (muscles, tendons, organs, etc.)…Scarring or injury to the fascia can cause pain and restrict motion. Myofascial release uses applied stretches to break down fascial adhesions and realign it to its proper orientation. We also use myofascial cupping techniques to work very effectively with your fascia.
